Sunlit Angels’ Share

Warm light pours through the tall windowpanes illuminating a quiet aisle greeting the morning sun. The contrast of the dark rick wood beams and the warm golden oak barrels as they stretch into the distance sets the scene. The slanted rays of sunlight cut through the shadows and catch the dust motes as they fall. The lone barrel in the aisle adds a sense of mystery with its placement. One can almost hear the floor boards creek and smell the atmosphere filled with the evaporating moisture, the angels’ share. Warehouse A at Wild Turkey Distillery has turned out some legendary whiskey. A side note: all my rickhouse paintings include a little bourbon inspector, a mouse.

Doug Keller

I am a self taught artist from northwest Ohio. I started painting at an early age then diverged into wood carving. Blood thinners directed me back to acrylic painting and I have focused on it for many years. I have a small upstairs studio closely supervised by our two cats on the little 3 acre farm my wife and I own. After many trips to Kentucky’s bourbon spots I have a love of bourbon history and culture. I try to capture it in each painting.

All prints are giclée museum quality prints with special fade resistant ink on acid free materials. They have the highest resolution for the most accurate reproduction of the original painting.
